Here is my revision:
Norfolk residents must realize that their home is at the forefront of the climate change crisis; Norfolk is only second to Louisiana in hurricane vulnerability. We are already witnessing the dire consequences of unchecked climate change, such as rising sea levels and other extreme weather events. In response to this crisis, a team of ODU students is organizing for the Safe Coast Virginia Conference, which will be located at the Norfolk Botanical Garden. The conference will jumpstart the conversation, expand awareness, and continue the movement on various solutions regarding fossil fuels and other factors that affect climate change and sea-level rise. The Safe Coast Virginia Conference will feature experts, movement leaders, and Hampton Roads residents, all in a collective effort to map out concrete plans to protect our coast. As students, we must carry a sense of urgency regarding our future, and participation in the conference is the start. Thank you and here is all the information for the conference:
